I am super excited. My best friend is coming over and staying until Thursday! She hasn't been able to stay the night in over a year.

Re: How are you today? What happened?
i'am very happy with my new horse^^.
my riding pal and i visited 5 sale horses last week, 2 pretty Hannoverian geldings, a stunning Arabian gelding, a lovely grey Trakehner mare and a cute quarter horse mixed breed. they all were adorable and it was an exciting experience to ride those horses. i left them with mixed feelings, really liked them all but i felt something was missing. couldn't say what it was in specific, just a feeling, kinda odd...
when we went back to the car i was sure to make a choice between the Arabian and the grey Trakehner mare. my riding pal was like "no rush, you need to sleep on things, you already know who you really want deep inside". somehow my riding pal is also my soulmate, so i got whom he was talking about.
I didn't expect them selling to me, also i felt a bit pathetic about "i love my foster horse, let's just buy him!", that's why i didn't dare to ask first but at least i did...
the stable owner blew my mind saying she was already waiting for me to ask for "Casino" and he would be much happier to be a private horse than struggling with swarms of small children. Casino doesn't like children at all, caused by happenings in the past, he doesn't feel comfortable being touched or ridden by children and always tries to bite or buck them off. another reason beside his arthrosis why he can't participate at the riding lessons regulary, making him a difficult case for the stable.
indeed some of the workers at the stable already dropped the "s-bomb" (slaughter), my riding pal told me later on. but he didn't want me to feel forced in buying, that's why he remained silent. the stable owner sold him to me for a very fair price, i also got a huge box at a quiet corner of the stable for him.
so yeah, my first own horse is an older one, some people are like "omg, you rejected an Arabian for this??? whyyy?" but between me and Casino is a special connection, many others don't get. it was one of my happiest moments to go to Casino and tell him he is all mine now. so i ended up with my first own horse and a bunch of extra money left...

PS: i haven't told my family yet, feels like it still needs some time...
