I totally agree with green, but I guess that don't interests because all people think we have no personal opinion...
anyway, that's not related to a mosaic in any way
would you use little stones it would be fine

Tigerness-, aslt-crystals would be fine, like I said....
but that what mars posted some posts ago, is only PURE COLOURED salt , n cristals which you have to pick up piece after piece , what i think is the main thing of a mosaik

I totally agree, you have to see that it is a mosaik and not just a glued pic with sand or salt or powder ._.

yeah its true.. it becomes more a painting then.. and its easy to do
- put glue on where you want the color
- put sand/ powder on..
- dry..
- shake of acces powder/sand en do that couple of times

mosaic has more space between pieces.. en i think you have to see there are pieces of whatever

that's a great thing but in my eyes still not a mosaik...it is a picture made with salt but not in a mosaik-style...just my opinion...

Whoa....enough discussion about the salt/sand/etc. please ;)
Let me look at something and then I will post or edit this post :D

....yes that means an answer to the '????' :D

EDIT
OK....

I have looked it up and salt has been used to make mosaics....

Salt Mosaic

I have to go with the salt because I did say in the beginning 'ANY KIND OF MEDIUM' and really, a mosaic can be made with anything, so why not salt?
I understand that it is just salt and glue, but you could put the argument that it is just paper and glue, or just tile and glue, (if you don't add cement) or just beads and glue.
Getting the salt to lay just right is tough too. It isn't as easy as one thinks ;) Go ahead and try it yourself and see if you can design something with salt, and see how easy it is...really it isn't ;)
(or sand....I've been there) XD

If you want to discuss this further, please pm me, but let's not discuss this on the board. :)

Can I take the same Pokemon and make different colors on my mosaic? or I must make the Pokemon only once?
You may only make one image of the Pokemon (the Virtuadopt Pokedex image) of the Pokemon on the mosaic.
The only way 2 Pokemon are allowed on the mosaic, is if they are a set. Example would be the Valentines Tauros and Miltank.

piplup25, As long as you are for sure acting as a trainer and not as yourself then I don't see a problem with this...I would like the photo to focus on the Pokemon.

La Lapras, That is fine, as long as there is at least a picture with your name and VA as well included :)

I understand what you are saying, but a mosaic is actually anything that is broken down into piecies. So if you colour, yet make it look like you have taken the Pokemon and broken it down into pieces, and also shade it with the colours, you can still make it look like a mosaic.

I have seen it done in art class, and in art.

Dustydragon, I´ve a question. I´ve search the last 12 pages and I´m sure I don´t find it. ^^" My question is: Can I made a mosaic from a Promo, too? Or have it be a normal pokemon? And it´s ok if there a more then one pokemon in this picture? (some drawings from here have more then 1 pokemon)
Please pm me if you would like to trade a pokemon from my trade boxes :3

You can use ANY dex Pokemon from Virtuadopt as long as you do not alter it any way. Do not take away from it or add anything to it.

Now, if the pokemon is part of a set, then YES you may have two.
By set I mean Valentines Sets like Valentine's Tauros and Miltank, Minun and Plusle, etc.

If the Pokemon are not part of a set (example - Pikachu and Raichu) then NO, you may not have two.

Do you see... on the horizon. As peace-ful as can be. Lapras flows like the moving dance....
Of the waves of the great blue sea! Across the sunset... Lapras flows... As peaceful as can be.

Hey :)
I have a question about this rule:
The Final Project photos you take MUST include your username and Virtuadopt somewhere in the photo. It CANNOT be digitally added afterwards!
Is it sufficient if on my mosaic it says:
"VA Summer Contest
User: jeanne_darc"

or must it really be "Virtuadopt"?

Thank you ^^

I've seen a lot of entries that are more like collages than actual mosaic... :|
